DISTRICT 1: (Luxury Items) The finer things in life may not always be necessary, but they can be appreciated nonetheless. Then again, sometimes the best things in life aren't physical things.

DISTRICT 2: (Masonry) Peacekeeper or stonemason, are you keeping the law by any cost, or being rock steady for another?

DISTRICT 3: (Technology and Mechanics) Even the poorer districts have their share of electronics and gadgets. Sometimes they're a help, and other times a hindrance.

DISTRICT 4: (Fishing) Patience is key when it comes to fishing. Have you got it, and the skill to get what you're after?

DISTRICT 5: (Power) Is it a good thing or a bad thing when the power is down? Or is there another kind of power that's key right now?

DISTRICT 6: (Transportation) Everyone's going somewhere. Sometimes it takes a car or a plane to get there, and other times the place you want to be is just down the street, or even just down the hallway.

DISTRICT 7: (Lumber) It can be a long wait before trees are ready to cut down. You've been waiting for something for a long time too.

DISTRICT 8: (Textiles) Clothes can be many things. A simple necessity. A luxury. Something to be enjoyed. Some make a statement, or are for specific occasions. Are you getting dressed (or undressed) for a reason?

DISTRICT 9: (Grain) Pita bread or Peeta bread? Or do you prefer your grain in liquid form instead?

DISTRICT 10: (Livestock) Friend, food, or fur coat?

DISTRICT 11: (Agriculture) Time to live off the land, or at least enjoy the great outdoors, whether it's gardening, picnicking, or taking a moment to do a bit of hunting.

DISTRICT 12: (Coal Mining) Coal can turn into pearls! Okay, no, it can't, but with enough pressure they can turn into diamonds. Good things can come out of hard situations, and some come out stronger for what they've survived.

DISTRICT 13: (Nuclear Weapons) Everything has gone to shit. Time for those fight or flight responses to kick in. Do you bunker down or face the conflict head on?

THE CAPITOL: It's player's choice because in the Capitol you can have just about anything.

[Katniss can't really figure out why. Maybe she just doesn't like the way Annie keeps occasionally shivering. She knows what it's like to be cold, but she doesn't even know if the sympathy's drawn out of that or from knowing Finnick or from just wanting to stop feeling bad for the girl. She doesn't need anymore people under that umbrella.]

[But she comes up in front of Annie, holding out a jacket by the collar, her expression blank as she can get it.] Take it.

[Annie's lips part, but she's not sure what she wants to say, or even if she wants to say anything. Katniss is Finnick's friend and Annie trusts her for that reason. But she's also kind of...intimidating.

There's a moment where she doesn't say anything, trying to pick which words to use. It probably doesn't help dispel her reputation for madness, but Annie has long since stopped caring about that.] Is it okay? [That's what she finally decides on, and it's not for her sake. She doesn't want Katniss getting in trouble for overdrawing clothing allowance or something.]

[She watches for the reaction, not sure what to make of the silence but not all that surprised by it either. She's trying not to think of Annie as terribly mad anymore, not in the way the word implies and precedes her]

[When she does finally speak up, Katniss gives the jacket a wave.] It's fine. [A pause.] I didn't sneak it away, if that's what you're asking.

[Not that Katniss is the most aware all the time, but she knows what it's like in District 13. Too well.]

[Johanna is loud. If sleep wasn't difficult enough as it currently stood, her slamming the door open and shut every time she went in or out of their apartment would've done it.]

[When Johanna slams it shut today, Katniss lifts her head lazily from where she'd been laying facedown into her pillow. But she doesn't look in the other girl's direction - the complete opposite, actually, staring at the wall before the words get muttered; she's five minutes away from sleeping out of exhaustion and isn't really thinking about the word-to-mouth filter at the moment.]

You could try a little harder next time. I'm not sure the neighbors heard that one.

[Another shiver works through her, and her hands open and close a little. She misses Finnick, even though he can't have been gone for longer than ten minutes. She doesn't like letting him out of her sight, doesn't feel safe otherwise. Doesn't feel that he's safe, either.

But he trusts Katniss, and Annie can do the same. After another moment of hesitation, she reaches for the jacket] I don't want you to get into trouble. [It's important for Katniss to know that that is why she's so uncertain. But then she smiles, and her face lights up] Thank you.

[Her hand drops idly back to her side once Annie finally takes the jacket, even if she doesn't put it on right away. It's a start.]

[The concern is only a little surprising - it's the part that's genuine that's really surprising, to be honest. Most people in Thirteen only seemed concerned about the Mockingjay part of Katniss Everdeen.]

There are other things I'm more likely to get in trouble for. [Breaking all the rules forever, a life. But awkwardly:] Don't - you're welcome. It's nothing.

You don't like listening. [It's an easy agreement, with no real judgment on it either way. Annie's just been paying attention.

She pulls the jacket on, her lips twitching up again as she tugs the zip up.] If it was nothing, I wouldn't have a jacket. [Duh]

[She opens her mouth to retort - and then promptly closes it.] Apparently I'm not very good at it, no.

[If she had been, the whole of Panem probably wouldn't be in the middle of a war right now.]

[Katniss watches as Annie pulls the jacket on, feeling satisfied that she accepted it. Her blank expression twitches a little, not quite amusement.] You just looked cold.

[Peeta doesn't know why he asked to learn to fish. His hands can frost with intricacies seemingly impossible for fingers his size and, similarly, he can make some amazing lures. But the actual act of trying to fish with a pole, or a spear, or his hands eludes him. He doesn't have the patience or precision for it, even though they tell him it will be good for him. Katniss and Finnick, enjoying some time together when they don't have to make a propos.

Rage flashes through him at the sight of them and dissipates almost as quickly. Then his gaze drops to the water again before he notices the girl not far from him. Annie Cresta, the girl who went a little crazy. He stops and straightens, looking to her as if she'll have some answer to the question he doesn't ask.]

[The alarms sound in District 13. Peeta snaps awake to ordered panic as the citizens of the underground District are being directed deep into the bunkers below. The alarms make it hard to focus. He's in danger. It's Katniss's fault. He needs to stop her. He needs to- the alarms blare again.

The tribute finally stands and makes his way from his bed to the door, just as one of the doctors approaches. It's the last thing he wants to see in his confusion and he shoves the man away. He's about to follow up on that violence when he catches sight of Johanna and stops. He stares at her and the doctor nervously stands by, not wanting to provoke the broken kid but not wanting to abandon him either.]

[Peeta slams his hand on the console outside his door. It's meant to help keep him safe, they say, but he wonders if it's not meant to keep them safe from him instead. Whatever the case, he seems to lock himself out more than he locks himself inside and tonight is no exception, the quiet of the night silently mocking him for his disturbed rest, his inability to sleep through the night. He kicks the door, punches it- and again. There's a moment of pure rage where he unleashes brute force upon the gateway before he catches himself. Peeta closes his eyes and flexes his fingers to help calm himself. He frowns as he opens them to see Annie down the hall. He doesn't like anyone to see him like that.]

[Annie is standing in the water, her pants rolled up with the intention of keeping them dry. But she's having this problem where she keeps straying out a little deeper than she's rolled them up, and they're wet anyway. She doesn't appear to care either way, a pleased smile on her face as she watches the fish.

She's not fishing herself. Annie can remember enjoying it, but ever since her Games, she hasn't been able to handle the killing, the blood in the water. Not, she's just enjoying the sensation of being in the water again, of having Finnick nearby, of being away from the Capitol. She hums to herself, a tuneless little melody as she wades through the shadows, scaring away the fish. Or scaring them towards the two who are actually doing the catching right now.

It takes her a while to realise that she's being watched. People are usually always watching Annie anyway, for one reason or another. She's used to it. But she picks up on it eventually, and just sort of pauses, holding still before lifting her gaze to meet Peeta's]

It's good to be outside.
